The
Vanguard Group of Investment Companies – |
|||
|
Information Systems Engineer – Security Services Development |
7/2000– present |
||
|
·
Designed, developed, and maintained the
security, authentication, authorization, and encryption software used by over
2.5 million registered web clients on Vanguard’s external shareholder web
site. ·
Initiated, led, and served as the primary
developer on a project to refactor components of Vanguard’s net-centric
security software, reducing rework and increasing code reuse. The redesigned software was functionally
equivalent to the original, but required less effort to maintain and enhance. ·
Designed and developed a credential chaining module,
which provided access to Vanguard’s enterprise credentials from either Sybase
or DB2 data stores. This module
allowed shareholder authentication data to be migrated using a phased
approach over several weeks, avoiding the risk of migrating over 40 million
records at once. ·
Integrated Netegrity SiteMinder security
software with Vanguard’s existing security infrastructure. ·
Implemented a detailed statistical reporting
mechanism for real-time analysis of web site performance. · Provided 24x7 production support for mission-critical website security systems, serving as a primary on-call point of contact for website troubleshooting and disaster recovery. |
